Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, ya’ll!
I have been so behind in life lately… after many all nighters, I finally finished out my first semester of grad school. (Woo hoo!) Then my parents planned a last minute Christmas trip to visit me in LA. I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything ready, but we had a fantastic time.

It was over 80 and we had drinks at the beach on Christmas day, followed by a fancy buffet at the Four Seasons that night. The only problem with being in Los Angeles at Christmas is that the candy in all of the stockings melted from the heat (wahh…)

The day after my parents left, we headed off to Park City for a week of skiing with friends. My boyfriend and I extended our trip and headed to Jackson Hole, WY for the weekend. I LOVE that little town! It snowed the first night we were there, and we had such a blast walking around the town of Jackson and checking out all of the shops. In both Park City and Jackson we found some really awesome furniture stores. I will do a post on each because I took way too many photos!

Looking through an alley in downtown Park City. You can see people skiing down to the town area at the top left. There were a few places you could ski down to for lunch.

On the way from Utah to Jackson. It felt like every mile of this ride was completely breathtaking.

I feel like you can strive to be better any time of year BUT I do feel like the new year IS a good time to remind yourself to take a breather, reflect on what’s working (and what’s not) and make a move. This year, I plan on not hoarding so much (throwing more stuff away, parting with projects right away, trying to avoid my cluttery usual). We’ll see how long that lasts, I just took the ornaments off the tree (hey, I couldn’t stand to do it before we left!)

What are your plans this year?
