Let the projects begin (continue)!
I’ve been digging on Big Daddy’s Antiques for years.
A great place for unique finds and rehab inspiration; it has been really wonderful to watch them grow so quickly.
They even have a new branch of stores called Georgia Brown (Big Daddy’s daughter!) cropping up. (Look for a Beverly Hills location soon.)
Here are my favorite finds from a trip to BD’s this weekend:
Visit Big Daddy at 3334 La Cienega Pl, Los Angeles, 90016
Talk about giving something old new life!
I can just imagine a pallet filled with fresh herbs out on my patio.
A friend was telling me her hubby is planning on building some for strawberries and hanging them on the fence because their dogs can’t resist the berries they grow each year.
Urban gardening at its finest!
Loving the boho chic vibe right now, and Raj on 3rd has all kinds of items that you can use to build that look in your home. Some are expensive (they have lots of gorgeous inlay items) and some are more suited to a rehabber’s budget.
Highlights from my recent trip:
Raj is located at 7961 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA, 90048
Ahhhh, Spring Break!
Apparently in grad school, it is that time of year when you catch up on work, do papers, and work on the extra assignments professors felt were necessary because you’re not actually making the trek to school.
That’s okay, though, because I will save approximately 7.5 hours next week in just drive time (I live/ work in West Hollywood and school is in Malibu, it’d be a trade off no matter where I lived.)
That being said, with my 7.5 hours of free time next week, I am planning on going a little rehab crazy.
Here’s the “To Do” list:
I have a side table I’ve been dying to start.
I have another bamboo side table that needs a sanding and some paint (bought it at Fairfax this past weekend!)
A set of chairs that need to be upholstered (I can’t seem to find the “right” fabric.)
And I want to put finishing touches on and make a cushion for a doll highchair that has been sitting neglected.
Add in that I want to go through my closet and donate a ton of clothes/ shoes, and it looks like this week is gonna be busier than normal! Think I can get all this stuff done?!
Yes, I am guilty of taking selfies, especially if there is a beautiful mirror involved.
I figure, it isn’t really a selfie, per say, if I’m actually taking a photo of a mirror, right?
Here are a few of my favorites from the last Rose Bowl Flea:
This is what I like to call the “flea market workout.”
Pushing this heavy table works abs and legs.
Get your arms by carrying other heavy items to the car (lamps, side tables, etc.). Your cardio is taken care of by walking around for hours on end!
And you thought you were just having a lazy Sunday!
I am loving these looks right now… apparently I am ALL about the COLOR this week! 🙂
Not sure where the photos came from, I’ve just shimmied them into the “inspiration” folder on my desktop over the past week.
Notice a common theme (other than color) going on here? All of these items would make for pretty easy projects (the chair would probably be the hardest one because you’d have to re-upholser depending on what you find.) A coat of paint and you’re pretty much done. Perfect ideas for time pressed rehabbers who want to breathe new life into their space!
