Luxe Loving: Design Inspiration

Had to post these pieces because they are just so cool and just looking at them leaves me majorly inspired.

Bench, Please

Lately, I’ve been looking around for pieces to help a friend’s living room shine. During my search, I’ve become obsessed with benches.

Yeah, a weird thing to be obsessed with, but I guess that comes with the territory when you’re always looking at furniture. Anyway… I came across this bench on Chairish yesterday and can’t get it out of my head. It’s handmade, I love the way the back is lighter, and it just oozes chic.

Bench Chairish Jpeg

If you haven’t heard of Chairish yet, it is kind of like Etsy meets 1st Dibs. A lot of the stuff is vintage, some is handmade or rehabbed, and, generally speaking, the stuff is higher quality than Etsy, and a little less pricey than 1stDibs.

Another Imaginary Room!

I’ve probably been spending a little too much time online because I have so many photos to create imaginary rooms with! This one started with the chair. I love the pops of red, white, blue, and green!

I’ve got a chair I’ve been working on, and it just hasn’t been going anywhere because I’ve been waiting to find that perfect fabric. I keep flip flopping between something traditional (because it does have cane backing) or something a little funkier (I’ve looked at tribal prints, monkey prints, sea horses…) After creating this board, I think I’ve decided on a funky pattern in traditional colors, like red or blue.

Inspiration: Imaginary Rooms

What do I do in my spare time? Create imaginary rooms for my future homes!
Here’s the latest!

Slide1It all started with this gorgeous Max Gottschalk bench I stumbled across on 1st Dibs. The rug is from West Elm (!!!) (they have some rugs that are so chic at such a good price point!) The lamp is midcentury (also from 1st Dibs). Both pillows come from One Kings Lane. I love the white one and use it for “inspiration boards” all the time. And I love these antique pitchers because they’re a different take on classic blue and white.
