Crazy for Cocktail Caddies

They’re my latest obsession. You know, those things you can put a bunch of glasses in and conveniently carry around the party to serve the drinks, transport glasses, or simply use create an extra fancy display. Since I love cocktails and LOVE collecting funky vintage glassware, collecting drink caddies seems like a logical next step, right? (Support me in my hoarding here!)

My interest was piqued by this beautiful gold set listed on One Kings Lane.

Yes, it is stunning, gorgeous, everything one could hope for in a cocktail set. Except it rings in around $450. All of you, my dear Rehabbers, know that wasn’t gonna fly for me. Okay, maybe it would if I wasn’t going to accumulate several or was buying it for a super special occasion or gift, but as a “just for fun” purchase, I just had to look to see what else was out there. Boy, was I glad I did!

I’m gonna take you through a few of my favorite finds. I found a medium priced set, a cheaper set, an even cheaper set and one wild card that was too cute not to show you!

Medium Priced Set

This is a set of shot glasses from RegencyMod on Etsy and it rings in at $169. While it’s not 24K Gold like the One Kings Lane set, the price difference shines.

Cheaper Set

This is a set of 4 full sized glasses with matching coasters sold by 14th Street Vintage on Etsy. It rings in at $75. MyrasMagicMiscellany on Etsy has a similar set for $70! These actually match the previous set, so if you really wanna go crazy, you can get both and still ring at about half price of the ultra luxe set!

Even Cheaper Set

I LOVE the holder on this set. These shot glasses have a cute heart and flower motif. This set of 8 shot glasses with the holder rings in at only $32 from KatePearceVintage on Etsy!

Wild Card!

I love, love, love this set. I may even buy this one for myself if one of you don’t scoop it up first. I have been actively trying not to buy, so this one is your gain! It rings in at $31.44 on ZenZetty’s Esty shop.

Any of these would be perfect to use during holiday parties or to give as gifts. I can just imagine one sitting out on the bar next to my record player while having friends over to decorate the tree.

Are you ready to get your collection of cocktail caddies going?

Happy hunting, Rehabbers!

Read and Relax Room Inspo

Read and Relax Room Inspo

I’ve been pulling images and creating some inspo collages for my office, which I want to turn into a reading/ relaxation room.

Since I’m still working on my thesis, I’ve been thinking about keeping a desk in there, but a much smaller desk than the original dark wood monster that was in there before.

Here’s what I’m feeling as of now:

I love the look of this room from Pinterest.

I pulled the photo above from Pinterest and was surprised that I loved it so much because it is not as pared down as the rest of my house. I like that the white keeps it bright and the sideboard at the bottom provides storage.

I liked the sideboard at the top if I decide to go with the look above. I also like the idea of a storage space that can double as a seating area under a window, since I have a big window with a good view. I would probably have a linen cushion made to put on top to make it more cozy and inviting. I like the idea of this “bar table” as a standing desk, and I especially like that the cubbies provide a place to keep my computer and office supplies.

Reading Room Inspo

Since it is a “read and relax” room, I definitely want some bookshelves. I have a ton of books! I know the wood shelves are the opposite of white, but I’m in the early stages of inspiration here! I saw these at Room and Board recently and they look great in person. Plus, there is no wall mounting necessary!

Finally, I like the idea of having a couch or chaise in the room to lounge on while reading and relaxing. I pulled these options from West Elm.

Flea Market Finds: Rose Bowl

Sometimes (okay, usually) you see those things at the flea market that leave you feeling inspired.

You’ve already seen my suitcase haul from Sunday, but here are a few of the other things I was loving this weekend:

Vintage Baseball Gloves and Masks
These masks and gloves would be awesome in a boy’s room, in a playroom, or even as a display in a library.
I loved this tiny settee. It would look awesome with a little rehabbing. I would love it spray-painted black and reupholstered in a pretty navy or grey linen.

This type of chair isn't normally my style, but the fabric on this collection was so pretty, I considered buying one. I settled on ordering one of these pretty striped linen pillows, which is much more in line with my style (and the style of my home.)

That being said, consider before buying if something is very different than what you’d normally choose. Yes, we all evolve in what we like. So if you like something, but aren’t really sure, walk away. Give yourself some time to consider if you were caught up in the emotions of the moment or if you truly love it and want to start creating a new look. Here,  I was caught up in the moment of loving the fabric.
